The Normanskill Farm
The Normanskill Farm is located in Albany, NY. It was a historic dairy farm dating back to the early 1800s, established with the founding of Normansville.
Today, the farm is home to the Albany Mounted Unit's horses, cows, and a winter home for our flock. It also has community gardens and a dog park.
It is also home to our Brother Yusuf Memorial Garden, a shared space with the Radix Center and other organizations. Friends of Tivoli Lake Preserve and Farm helped tend to this garden space from 2020 to 2025, but as of 2026, we will focus our garden efforts at Tivoli.
Farm Presentation
A short PPT presentation is available for those interested in learning more about the farm's rich history.
Students from Albany Public Schools usually end the school year with a field trip to the farm. During COVID-19, field trips were canceled. In lieu of the field trips. Below are some videos we created to share the farm virtually.
